A Mercer County woman is out nearly $1,000 following an online scam.
Police say a 31-year-old woman from Mercer was selling an item on the app Poshmark. The woman was new to the app, and was contacted by a possible buyer.
The buyer then emailed the woman a link saying that the victim needed to make a security deposit since she was new to the app.
The woman then sent $999 in pre-paid cards to the scammer in order to sell her item.
