A major stretch of Route 356 will be under construction Friday in three different townships in southern Butler County.
Milling work will begin at 6 a.m. on a portion of Route 356 that includes Jefferson, Winfield, and Buffalo Townships.
PennDOT says construction will span an eight mile stretch from Caldwell Drive to the Buffalo Township Shopping Plaza. Crews will be working on the northbound lane of Rt. 356 starting at the intersection with Route 228 in Sarver. There will also be a two mile stretch of the southbound lane that will be milled from the Rt. 228 intersection.
The project is expected to last all day, with work possibly continuing on Saturday.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane controlled by flaggers. PennDOT encourages drivers to use other routes if possible.
