The Major League Baseball All-Star rosters have been completed, and the game will feature 19 first-time All-Stars when it is played in Atlanta July 15th.
Paul Skenes will be the Pirates only All-Star. Skenes is just the third starting pitcher in Pirates franchise history to be named an All-Star in back-to-back years, joining Rip Sewell (1943 and 1944) and Bob Veale (1965 and 1966).
Former Pirate reliever Aroldis Chapman, now of the Boston Red Sox, was picked for the American League team.
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw was named to the National League roster as a special commissioner’s selection.
