Many Butler County residents experienced a power outage and emergency crews were busy dealing with the resulting brush fires Monday afternoon.
Calls came into the Butler County 911 Center shortly before 2 p.m. for a variety of issues including an electrical line down and transformer sparking on Delwood Road.
That resulted in several brush fires in the area, so a portion of Delwood needed to be shut down in order to allow firefighters access the affected areas.
According to the West Penn Power website, nearly 1,500 residents were without electricity including over 500 in Butler City, about 500 in Oakland Township, over 200 in Butler Township, and nearly 200 in Summit Township.
