There were 44 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths for Butler County on Monday.
Today’s report also comes with 106 negative test results, according to the Department of Health.
Over the weekend there were 359 new cases and nine additional deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic to 174. Health officials do note that the low reporting of new cases could be due to the Christmas holiday.
State-wide there are just under 6,000 patients being treated for COVID-19 and 1,174 people in the ICU.
As for local hospitalizations with the Butler Health System, Monday’s report indicated the staff at Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 59 patients for COVID-19 with 8 COVID patients in the ICU. Since their last update last Wednesday, Butler Memorial Hospital reported 5 deaths to the PA Department of Health. Below is the breakdown of specific dates.
