A Butler man accused of leading intentionally attempting to hit a police officer in while being chased by law enforcement is now facing charges in Butler.
Last week, 46-year-old Ronald Piper led police on a chase after attempting to steal from a Fairview Township home. During the chase it’s alleged Piper attempted to hit an officer on the road.
Piper has now been charged in Butler for the attempted theft. Although he has been charged in Butler, Piper is being held in the Butler County Prison on $1 million bail for attempting to hit an officer with his vehicle during a police chase.
The new charges against Piper are burglary and theft by unlawful for the attempted theft at the Fairview Township home.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Armstrong County on November 5.
