
Butler Township Police have released more information on a pedestrian accident that sent one person to the hospital earlier this week.
The accident happened Tuesday around 7:15 a.m. when police were called to the Forest Heights apartment complex parking lot for a man that was struck by a vehicle.
When police arrived on scene they found 68-year-old Thomas Troutner of Butler on the ground. A medical helicopter was called and Troutner was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
After an investigation, police say 61-year-old Kenneth Douglas of Butler took a left turn from a parking lot onto a private drive that leads to McCalmont Road. Douglas’s mirror hit Troutner leading him to hit his head on the ground causing severe injuries.
Troutner was treated at the hospital and later released.
