A young girl was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after she was hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning.
It happened after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin Road and Vincent Street.
Dispatchers tell our newsroom that an elementary school student was hit at a bus stop. Police say the bus had stopped and had its lights flashing, but the driver of the vehicle did not see the lights and hit the girl.
The student was alert and conscious at the scene. Initially a medical helicopter was called, but couldn’t fly due to weather. The girl was then taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital.
There’s no word on her current condition.
