There could be more precincts coming to Butler County.
At yesterday’s public meeting, the board of elections proposed adding more precincts in the southern portion of the county. The additional districts would be coming to Adams, Connoquenessing, Cranberry, Jackson, and Middlesex Townships.
The petition to add more precincts now goes to the Butler County Court of Common Pleas. Residents do have the right to object to the petition, and do that through the Clerk of Courts.
Election officials are hopeful that the new precincts will be in place by the fall election. It would also bring the county’s total number of precincts to 96.
The last time Butler County added voting districts was in 2008.
