The North Catholic Boys defeated Quaker Valley 84-56 last night in the 3A quarterfinals. Owen DeGregorio hit seven three-point shots to lead the Trojans with 21 points. Andrew Ammerman added 19. North Catholic will travel to Belle Vernon in the semifinals Thursday.
Karns City senior Chase Beighley, the all-time leading scorer in school history, was named the 2021 KSAC Boys’ Basketball MVP Monday. Beighley is averaging 19.0 points per game for the Gremlins, who are the top seed in the District 9 Class 2A playoffs and has scored a school-record 1,622 career points.
Joining Beighley on the All-KSAC first-team squad were teammate Nathan Waltman, and A-C Valley’s Levi Orton.
Moniteau’s Kyle Pry received second-team honors.
