As expected, the Dallas Mavericks selected Duke’s Cooper Flagg with the first pick of the NBA draft last night. Flagg was one of two Duke players to go in the first five selections. There were three Duke players selected in the first 10 picks. Two picks in the top five were players from Rutgers.
With the final pick of the opening round, the Los Angeles Clippers selected Penn State’s Yanic Konan Niederhauser. The center from Switzerland, is the first Nittany Lion basketball player to ever be selected in the first round.
The NHL draft begins Friday at 7pm.
