The neighbor who took the gun from a man who shot a black bear in his backyard has been charged and placed in prison.
On June 6th, police say 54-year-old Thomas Risinger of Karns City of killed a black bear in his backyard with a gun he illegally possessed.
After shooting the bear, Risinger gave the gun to his neighbor, 36-year-old Daniel Reynolds-Demchur of Karns City.
Police went to Reynolds home and found the gun, which has now led to felony charges against him for possession and tampering with evidence.
He has been placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond as he awaits a July 15 preliminary hearing.
