Employers will now be required to have posters up at their work place about available benefits for veterans.
Governor Josh Shapiro signed legislation last week that will require employers with more than 50 full-time employees to display a poster that shows benefits available for veterans.
The poster will include available benefits such as contact and website information for the PA Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, tax benefits, contact information for the US Department of Veterans Affairs Crisis Line, and more.
The now law passed through the house by a vote of 134-69 with no Butler County state representative voting for the bill.
In the senate an amendment to allow businesses to be complying by posting the necessary information on their website. The bill then passed by a vote of 46-4.
It then passed the house with the added amendment by a vote of 181-22 with state representative Aaron Bernstine being the only Butler County representative voting with the no’s’.
