A new bishop will be installed today in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Mark Eckman will officially become the 13th Bishop of the diocese this afternoon.
An installation mass will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oakland at 2:30 p.m. The mass is open to the public, although officials ask that everyone is seated by 1:30 p.m.
The mass will also stream on the diocese’s website.
Eckman has been an auxiliary bishop in the diocese and will take over for Bishop David Zubik, who retired last week.
