The 35th Butter Sculpture at the Pennsylvania Farm Show was unveiled yesterday.
With a theme of “A Toast to Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary: Inspired by Founders. Grown by Farmers.” the butter sculpture features a life size Benjamin Franklin and the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence as well as the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross and the first American flag. Beneath the scene, the sculpture’s pedestal honors the Commonwealth’s rich agricultural heritage with carved imagery highlighting farming and food production.
The sculpture was created by Conshohocken artists, who were provided with over 1,000 pounds of butter by Land O’Lakes in Carlisle.
It will be displayed in the Main Hall of the Pennsylvania Farm Show until the 17th when it will be recycled and converted into renewable energy through a methane digester.
