A portion of New Castle Street in Slippery Rock is closed this morning.
Dispatchers say an oversized load sheared a utility pole and knocked down wires onto the road just after 6 a.m.
No one was injured, but crews say the road is not passable.
New Castle Street is closed in between Main Street and Mulberry Lane. Drivers should use West Water Street as a detour.
