A New Castle woman has been sentenced on charges of violating federal narcotics laws.
U.S. Department of Justice officials say 46-year-old Deia Eggleston will serve 46 months in prison with a three-year term of supervised release.
According to authorities, Eggleston’s conviction on violation of federal drug trafficking laws resulted from a conspiracy to allow her home to be used to manufacture crack cocaine as well as store drugs and guns.
Their investigation also revealed that Eggleston aided and abetted an attempted delivery of a kilogram of cocaine by mail that was intercepted by federal agents.
Aiding in this investigation were officers with the New Castle Police Department, the Attorney General’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
