Butler City Council officially welcomed their newest members at a swearing-in ceremony on Monday.
New Councilmembers Bill Painter and Lisa Quebedeaux were administered the oath of office for four-year terms by District Magistrate Kevin O’Donnell.
Painter will oversee the Department of Accounts and Public Finance while Quebedeaux will lead the Department of Public Safety and Bureau of Fire.
Mayor Bob Dandoy was also sworn in for his second term and thanked city residents for their continued trust. He also committed to “work every day to bring people together, to be accessible and transparent, and to make decisions rooted in what is best for the entire city, today and for generations to come”.
Finally, since no Butler City Controller was elected last fall, Sarah Omstead was identified as a suitable candidate. She agreed to join the city in that role for a two-year term and was sworn in to her new position.
