A new tax on craft breweries in the state could result in your next cold one being a little more expensive.
Starting today, the state will officially impose a “use tax” on beer that is sold directly to consumers at the breweries. The tax will end up costing the breweries about 10 cents more a drink, but breweries could pass that cost onto the customer.
Butler County has seen massive growth in the craft beer industry, with now 10 breweries operating inside the county.
