NFL players have approved a new labor agreement with the league by a narrow vote. The deal is good through the 2030 season and will increase roster sizes, provide higher salaries and larger pensions for current and former players. The deal also increases the regular season to 17 games, and expands the playoffs to 14 teams.
If this deal was in place last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers would have made the playoffs.
Now that the deal is in place – teams will begin making decisions today regarding upcoming free agents. The Steelers are expected to use the franchise tag to keep linebacker Bud Dupree, which will pay him more than $16 million.
