Supporters of a new law that was just enacted say it should help clear up some confusion for farmers.
The bill clarifies that farmers can operate their large machinery with a Class A, B, or C license from the state if they take it on the road.
The issue stems from a 2014 law that said farmers did not need a CDL to drive a tractor on the road—but it did not say what kind of license they did need.
Lawmakers say the point of the bill is to make it easy on farmers to transport products without unnecessary disruptions.
