Governor Josh Shapiro has signed a new bill into law that will update policy for insurance companies for breast cancers screenings.
The bill will align Pennsylvania with federal policy by having insurance companies cover screenings and examinations without cost if they are at average or high risk for breast cancer.
The bill passed in the senate without a single no vote and had only seven no votes in the house.
The bipartisan bill was signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro Monday and will go into effect in 60 days from the signing.
