Lawmakers in Harrisburg are proposing legislation to require schools to implement a panic alarm system.
Florida, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, and Texas have already passed “Alyssa’s Law.” Alyssa Alhadeff was a teen killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in 2018.
The bill would require schools to put alarms into every classroom that would go off in the event of a school shooting.
The legislation has passed through the House Communication and Technology Committee with bipartisan support in June. It can now move to a vote on the house floor.
