A new agreement will give students a chance to begin their career with the state police while finishing a college degree.
State police announced the new program, which allows students to earn credits while training at the State Police Academy. It will happen in their final semester, so they can earn their degree and become a state trooper at the same time.
Six different colleges and universities have partnered with the state police, including Saint Vincent and Mercyhurst in Western PA.
A college degree is no longer necessary to become a state police trooper.
