A new proposal to help those in student debt is being prepared to be offered to Pennsylvania residents.
Pennsylvania is third highest in the United States for average student debt at just under $40,000.
With increased amounts of student debt relief programs both on the federal and state level, state representatives Jennifer O’Mara and Morgan Cephas who represent Delaware and PhiladelphiaCcounties have proposed a way to help lift burden from borrowers.
Currently student loan forgiveness is considered taxable under personal income tax.
