Those interested in experiencing local nature are invited out to McConnells Mill later this week for a moderately difficult hike.
On Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. the Park Naturalist will lead attendees on a mile and a half hike on the new trail to Breakneck Falls.
During the journey into the National Natural Landmark Slippery Rock Gorge, participants will learn about local geology and waterfall safety.
Those planning to attend are advised to wear sturdy hiking books and to dress for the weather. Participants should bring their own water and a snack. Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome.
