Connoquenessing Township is taking another step in their sewer plan after submitting it to the DEP.
The initial plan passed by a 2 to 1 vote among supervisors and was submitted to the DEP.
Although the plan was submitted, the township still had a two-month extension to review a different plan with PA American water.
At the August meeting grant money obligated to be spent by the end of the year on surveying the area was allocated. The second was to shut down operations for the Connoquenessing Township Sewer Authority.
The sewer authority needed to be closed because according to one township official the authority wasn’t in use but still building costs attorney fees, audit fees, and general expenses. A future board could always reestablish the authority if needed.
The township is now just awaiting a review by the DEP.
