NFC Wild Card Playoffs Sunday:
–Minnesota defeated New Orleans 26-20 in overtime. The Vikings will visit San Francisco in the NFC Divisional Round Saturday at 4:35pm.
–Seattle defeated Philadelphia 17-9. The Seahawks will visit Green Bay Sunday at 6:40pm. The Eagles lost quarterback Carson Wentz to injury in the opening quarter of the game.
AFC Wild Card Playoffs Saturday:
–Tennessee eliminated New England 20-13. The Titans will get Baltimore Saturday at 8:15pm in the AFC Divisional Round.
–Houston defeated Buffalo 22-19 in overtime. The Texans will visit Kansas City to open the Divisional Round Sunday at 3:05pm.
After over a week of speculation, the Dallas Cowboys fired head coach Jason Garrett Sunday. He led the Cowboys for the past nine years, the second-longest tenure behind Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry. Dallas went 8-8 this season, and missed the playoffs for the sixth time under Garrett’s leadership.
The final “non-championship” bowl game will be played tonight in Mobile, Alabama – when Miami of Ohio and Louisiana-Lafayette meet in the Lending Tree Bowl at 7:30pm on ESPN.
The College Football Championship game will be played between LSU and Clemson one week from tonight in New Orleans.
The FCS championship game will be played this Saturday between James Madison and North Dakota State.
