The NHL announced Sunday that it will play a 56-game season beginning January 13th. The Penguins have been placed in a division including Boston, Buffalo, Philadelphia, the New York Islanders and Rangers and Washington. The Pens will play only those teams in the regular season – and will see each team eight times. The top four teams in each of the four temporary divisions will reach the Stanley Cup playoffs.
