No injuries were reported following a house fire that occurred on Saturday night in nearby Lawrence County.
According to our news partners at WPXI, a family of five was able to escape the house fire on East Wallace Avenue in New Castle. Officials say that the fire started in the kitchen around 7:15pm when someone stepped away from the stove while cooking.
First responders said that the fire was under control in 45 minutes, but traveled to and damaged the second floor. Officials also say that the structure sustained significant smoke and water damage.
The Red Cross is assisting the five victims.
