Protests over President Donald Trump’s enhanced immigration enforcement are planned across the country tomorrow including here Butler County.
The local protest will be taking place at the intersection of Route 228 and Route 19 in Cranberry Township from noon until 2 p.m.
The “No Kings” protests are taking place the day of President Trump’s military parade in Washington.
Cranberry Township Police say that they are aware of the event and are in communication with protest organizers. They say that some social media posts have “inaccurately labeled this event as a riot.” Police say this is not the case and the protest is planned as a peaceful demonstration.
They also urge others to not engage and “refrain from interacting with the protestors.”
In a statement released by Governor Josh Shapiro he has called for peaceful protests.
“We will always remain focused on keeping our communities safe and ensuring all demonstrations remain peaceful.”
