Butler City Council does not plan on raising taxes as they move forward with the process of approving the budget for 2024.
The total 2024 preliminary balanced general fund budget currently sits at nearly $10.6 million with a tax rate of 44 mils. An additional nearly $1.7 million in city money has been designated for the liquid fuels tax fund, the capital projects fund, and the parking fund.
These figures are either identical or very close to last year’s figures. The budget also includes raises for city employees as outlined in collective bargaining agreements but does not include any appropriation of funds from the sale of Butler Area Sewer Authority assets.
The budget is now available to the public for 30 days before a vote for final approval sometime before the end of December.
