There are no new real estate taxes a part of next year’s Butler County budget.
The projected $69.6 million general fund budget was presented to the county commissioners earlier today. The millage rate remains at 27.626, which is the same as last year. County officials expect it to bring in a little over $50 million.
Public safety continues to be the largest expense for the county—with the prison budget at nearly $13.5 million.
The budget is up for public review on the county’s website, before being certified by the end of the year.
