PennDOT is now offering a non-binary gender choice on state driver’s licenses.
Officials say this decision comes amid an effort to provide fair and equal services to state residents.
“It became clear that only offering drivers licesne and ID cards with only male or female gender designation options was not meeting the needs of all our customers,” Yassmin Gramian is the state secretary of transportation said.
A gender designation change on a license must be done in-person at a PennDOT Center.
