WPIAL Playoffs:
–Peters Township defeated North Catholic 3-0 last night in the Class 4A volleyball Semifinals. Peters Township will meet Pine-Richland in the championship match after the Rams shutout North Allegheny 3-0 in the other Semifinal. The loss ends an eight-year reign for the Tigers as the top volleyball program in Pennsylvania.
–The Mars girls volleyball team still has a chance to make the PIAA tournament. They will meet Hampton tonight in the Class 3A Consolation Game. The match begins at North Allegheny high school at 6:30pm.
The Seneca Valley soccer teams will be part of a championship doubleheader Friday night at Pittsburgh’s Highmark Stadium. The Seneca Valley girls will meet North Allegheny in the WPIAL Class 4A Championship at 6:30pm. The Raiders boys will face Fox Chapel for the Class 4A title at 8pm.
The Freeport and Burrell girls soccer teams will meet for the Class 2A WPIAL title Saturday morning at 10am at Highmark Stadium.
