A few local municipalities have been awarded state grant funding to help with park improvement.
The PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources recently announced that the 2024 Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants include projects in Winfield and Forward Townships as well as Butler City and Butler County.
Winfield will receive over $275,000 for further development of Winfield Township Community Park including construction of multisport court, pedestrian walkway, and internal loop trail as well as ADA access, installation of fencing, signage, and landscaping.
Jefferson was awarded $216,000 to use for rehabilitation of the Ash Stop Park to include renovation of existing trail; construction of internal loop trail and parking area; ADA access, landscaping, and signage.
Butler City will receive nearly $46,000 for Rehabilitation of Emily Brittain School Playground that includes construction of pedestrian walkway; installation of play equipment and required safety surfacing.
Butler County was also awarded $250,000 to be used for Rehabilitation and further development of Diamond Park including renovation of plaza; construction of pavilion and pedestrian walkways.
A total of nearly $80 million will be distributed to over 300 projects across the state to plan, acquire, and develop public parks, recreation areas, trails, river access, and conservation of open space.
