The National Weather Service says the conditions are ripe for brush fires Thursday.
Officials say because of the dry conditions this afternoon, there is an elevated risk for wildfires to spread across the region. The relatively low humidity levels are one of the reasons that the warning has been put in place.
Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling anything that could potentially create a fire, including machinery, cigarettes, or matches.
If dry grasses and tree litter begins to burn, the fire has the potential to spread rapidly.
