As May wraps up the National Weather Service says that this has been the most rain in the area in over 100 years.
The National Weather Service is reporting that Pittsburgh is currently 8.22 inches over its normal amount of rainfall for this time of year for a total of 23.83 inches.
The last time the area saw that amount of rain was 1890 with 23.88 inches.
For the area to get back to it’s yearly average it would have to not rain for nearly two months.
