Officials in the Butler County Courthouse are expressing concern over the salary of law clerks as they look to fill a position.
The courthouse currently has an opening for a law clerk position, but Judge Michael Yeager said that there have been very few applicants.
To apply for the job, candidates must be a graduate of a law school and pass the bar exam. But, the salary for the job starts at $45,000.
Yeager said that pales in comparison to other law clerk salaries in the state.
It’s not known if the county’s salary board will take any action regarding the position.
