Shohei Ohtani agreed to a record-breaking free agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. Ohtani will make $700 million over the 10 year deal. He will not pitch in the 2024 season after having Tommy John surgery on his pitching arm. His $70 million annual salary is $2 million less than the Pittsburgh Pirates entire payroll from opening day last year.
