A multi-vehicle accident led to a massive cleanup effort on I-79 yesterday.
The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. on I-79 northbound in Cranberry Township.
Dispatchers say an oil spill led to a tractor-trailer crash and three other vehicles sliding off the road.
Crews tried to spray the oil off the road but were unsuccessful. They called the local HAZMAT crews and PennDOT, who had to bring sand in order to help clean the spill.
Crews remained on scene for almost three hours before the incident was cleared.
No one was injured in the accident.
