A couple of organizations that assist Butler County residents will receive funding from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
The Neighborhood Assistance Program will distribute over $1.3 million in tax credits to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to continue with food distributions in 11 counties across the region. The group would like to increase the amount of fresh produce available as well as provide more than a million meals for children through the Child Nutrition Outreach team.
Additionally, just over $26,000 has been designated for the Dress for Success Pittsburgh program which will provide healthcare worker uniform items like medical scrubs, crocs, and non-skid shoes to 500 women undertaking employment or training in rural communities.
A total of $36 million in tax credits will be dispersed through this program across the state to help accomplish over 260 projects.
