Several local municipalities have been chosen to receive state funding for improvement projects.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a $750,000 Multimodal Transportation Fund grant for Butler County’s Community Development Corporation to reconstruct and extend Bantam Avenue in the City of Butler.
“This will help continue with concrete crushing and destroying old foundations in that area,” Butler County Chief of Economic Development Mark Gordon said. “This is another great step in building that area.”
The CFA is also providing a $625,000 grant to Cranberry Township to improve safety and connectivity at the intersection of Brandt Drive and Route 19. A $200,000 grant will go to Evans City Borough to replace the Harrison Street culvert.
Clearfield Township will receive nearly $390,000 for renovations to the McGrady Hollow Bridge and an additional $130,000 will be directed to Winfield Township to replace two bridges at the intersection of Center and Helmbold Avenues.
