While vanity plates offer a chance for drivers to express themselves, not all of them will be given a stamp of approval by the Department of Transportation.
New data from the department says they rejected more than 200 proposed vanity plates last year.
There are 16 different regulations that a vanity plate must pass according to state rules. There is also a predetermined list of nearly 2,900 entries that are already automatically banned.
PennDOT says they have a team that reviews all personalized plate requests.
