Pennsylvania American Water is encouraging customers to conserve water in Butler County after a drought watch was issued.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental protection issued a drought watch for Butler County on January 8.
PA American Water is asking 21 counties, including Butler, to reduce nonessential water use by 10 to 15 percent.
In effort to conserve water, PA American Water has provided these additional tips:
- Run dishwashers and clothes washers only when they are full
- Check for leaks on toilets, faucets, and pipes
- Acquire and install water saving appliances including showerheads, toilets, and faucets
