Pennsylvania’s Attorney General says he’ll take on the U.S. Secretary of Education after she said schools would lose federal funding if they don’t open for in-person instruction this year.
Democrat Josh Shapiro sent a letter to school superintendents across Pennsylvania urging leaders to make decisions that balance student’s health and educational experience. He said he would take legal action if necessary.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos recently said that she would support withholding federal funding to schools if they don’t fully reopen this fall.
