The Pennsylvania State House is recognizing a Pittsburgh Pirates icon with a day of celebration.
The house approved a resolution recognizing September 15th as Roberto Clemente Day.
Lawmakers say the day is meant to celebrate Clemente, who was a “dedicated humanitarian and a shining example of what a human being should strive to be.”
Members of Clemente’s family joined lawmakers in Harrisburg for a ceremony earlier this week.
