The Pennsylvania lottery has announced it has generated more than $1 billion for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians for the 12th consecutive year.
The lottery was able to accomplish this by selling nearly $5 billion in traditional games which does include the Powerball and Mega Millions. There was over $3.3 billion in traditional game prize winners which is down over $52 million from last year. There were 86 winning tickets with $1 million or more sold in the fiscal year as well.
Online play increased by just over 16 percent to $872.5 million with $772.3 million paid out for an increase of $123 million from last year.
