State officials are encouraging people to get registered to vote for this upcoming election.
The deadline to register is now less than a month away. Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman says the department has really been trying to make potential voters aware.
“We are making sure we are meeting voters where they are. We have a campaign at the Department of State where we’re texting voters, emailing them, and social media ads on Facebook and Twitter. We also have Turnpike ads,” Chapman said. So, we’re really trying to engage everyone, both urban and rural, throughout the electorate in Pennsylvania.
Chapman says there are around 1.7 million eligible voters in Pennsylvania who have not registered yet.
