The Pac-12 has reversed its August decision not to play football this fall because of the coronavirus pandemic and yesterday announced an abbreviated seven-game season that will begin on November 6th. The move comes after the Big Ten earlier reversed its decision to postpone football until after the fall.
The Pac-12 will be doing daily coronavirus testing of its athletes, and state and local officials gave the go-ahead for them to play.
Several hours later yesterday, the Mountain West announced it will begin play on October 24th with an eight-game slate. The only holdout of the 10 FBS conferences is the Mid-American Conference, and it could also reverse its postponement as early as today.
